Samuel J. Fava, 96, of Danbury died Thursday, July 19th at Danbury Hospital. Samuel was born February 18, 1916 in Danbury, son of the late Nazzareno and Anna (Patella) Fava.

Samuel served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a finisher for the Mallory Hat Shop for 25 years and then as a drawer for Gilbert & Bennett for 23 years. Samuel was a member of the V.F.W, Catholic War Veterans, the American Legion and an Honorary Member of Moose Lodge 1373 in Danbury.

The family would like to say a "special" Thank You to the entire Cappiello family for always being there for our family.

Samuel is survived by his sister, Mary "Sue" Fava of Danbury; his nephew, Louis Fava and his wife Sylvia of Morehead City, NC; three nieces, Ann Marie McLaughlin and her husband David of Lakeworth, FL; Susan Taylor and her husband Raymond Cheryl Lee and her husband Ted all of Columbus, OH as well at seven great nieces and nephews and seven great great nieces and nephews. Samuel is predeceased by his brother, Louis Fava and his sister-in-law Rosemarie Fava.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, July 24th at St. Joseph Church, 8 Robinson Ave., Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.

The family will receive friends between the hours of 5 and 7 PM on Monday, July 23rd at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury.
