Jack Lewan

Jack Lewan of Mebourne FL, died on March 1st shortly after his 101st birthday. He was born February 21, 1912 in Manhattan, NY, son of the late Walter and Pauline (Vagovic) Lewandrowski.

Jack was a Veteran of the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a Master Sergeant and Master Mechanic during his time in the Army. He worked for United States Trucking as a Master Mechanic and retired after 44 years.

In his younger years, Jack was a musician and a lead singer in a Polish/American Band. Over the years, he on the violin and his wife Anna on the piano, entertained family and friends. Those gatherings were always special.

He loved and cared deeply for his family.
He will be missed by his son, with whom he shared a home, Ronald Lewan and his wife Suzanne, who was also Jack's caregiver; his 2 granddaughters, Jeannine Urban and her husband John of Colts Neck NJ and Claudine Tabacco and her husband Anthony of Brookfield; 3 great grandsons, Luke, Cole and Zack Tabacco.

In addition to his wife of 53 years, Anna (Kunka) Lewan, Jack is predeceased by 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Thursday, March 5th at St. Joseph Church in Brookfield. Burial will follow at 11:30 AM on Friday, March 6th at Calvary Cemetery in New York. There will be no calling hours.
