Maria G. Barresi graduated from Briarwood College, Southington, CT., with an Associate of Science in Mortuary Science in 1998. She is a licensed funeral director and has worked in funeral service since 1997. She is a welcome member of the staff at the Cornell Memorial.
Maria and her husband, Bob, have made their home in Newtown for more than 28 years. They have three grown children and recently became grandparents. Maria is an active member of the Newtown Congregational Church. She enjoys volunteering at the church and has served on the Board of Deacons, the Church Council, Usher Committee, and the Women’s Fellowship Board. She is currently a Sunday School Teacher, and serves on the board of the Shelter of the Cross, a program for elderly homeless in Danbury.
